My experiences:
In gravity sketch, you are able to create object and scene whilst being in the VR world using pens and brushes, I experimented by trying to create a house on a street scene I found out that creating scene within VR you tend to get a better idea for size and how something could look in real life easier than you would modelling on a computer. Some of the tools we were using shown in the video were the pens and brushes that game the scene a cartoony style to it, I partially like the grab too that allowed me to move all of the sketches on the scene so I could position in right for the environment; I used this one the scene was pretty much complete just so the street and house wasn’t floating.
In shapes xr, this seemed less artistic and more architectural, this was because there wasn’t if any sketchy, free draw option, this software had assets you could shape and manipulate like cubes, spheres ect with these meshes I could resize/ scale them how I wanted, this also came with measurements so I could get as accurate as I wanted. I decided I wanted to create a room from a house, shaping and scaling walls and a floor then using the provided asses to import a chair and other house hold objects into my room using the same method of resizing to make them fit in the scene.
I believe that in terms of creating places for a VR environment there is a few benefits like understanding better how the user is going to interact with the environment, because instead of being on a screen modelling screen you are actually working within the scene and you gain a greater understanding where the user will want to go, what they will be looking at. However, I believe working and making environments in VR using these software’s can be dramatically more tiring, usually using a screen you’re sat looking tapping away and people can do this for hours and hours, VR your whole body is being used constantly and this can be something that can massively deter people from using it also moving and wrapping objects and shapes all over the place can increase the chance of the users having cyber sickness for the users which can slow down how much people can be in these software’s again.
However really unique and clever feature these VR software’s have are the ability to allow multiple people to work on a single project at the same time, this means as your working creating a scene someone else could be helping you create it with you or designing their own within the same project. This is a really clever idea for a number of reasons; this makes sharing and passing around work so much easy between people/ stops the need to be sharing around if everyone is working in the same project. A main factor is production time would be a lot faster as multiple people can be working together for the project. The only draw back of this feature is that how has done what in a specific scene cant really be accurately document, therefore one person can be doing majority of the work and others who are involved could be not doing as much and still getting credit for the overall finished project.

in the image below this is a showing a different aspect of shape XR, where users can basically see through the VR to the real world and still use the tool and create object and scenes. This feature can be useful if a user is wanting to design a chair for example and they and to make sure the specific design will work with the room, the proportions are correct or if they just like it since they can now see it; this can also be good if they want to make a proportionate scene and using the real world to trace from which would be really accurate to use.

In the video below it is of gravity sketch, this is already used at a high level and you can see that the users have reference images floating beside their designs which shows the software is getting toa professional level and the fact that they are able to more it around at any angle to benefit them is really good. Within the video you can also see that a couple of people are working on the same design and can see the other users change/ editing it in real time which is necessary when working together; its also really helpful they can communicate their changes and ideas within the software which also means they don’t need to meet up to talk about and discuss changes to the product and this means time isn’t wasted travelling and using these software could be better environmentally.
