My example of working with AR, I used the beach front to be the image to react to the camera and project the model of the ocean shack, this allowed my be view the entire shack in a 360 movement in real time. I feel like the benefits of this whatever model and animation you have created, it will always make the scene/ character that little bit more immersive for the user because they feel and are very much involved of what and how they are seeing the model.
My Experience:
From my experience the AR feature is a really interesting idea gives the user a new interactive way to view a product or model however I feel like there isn’t much benefits compared to not using it, the user may find the use of googles AR very helpful as their trying to find their destination but without I feel the software would be just as easy to use. overall I do think AR is a interesting feature but is a gimmick and there are other ways to make the user have a much better immersive experience.
This is a really good example of AR being used as a good way to advertise their product, they have used the front facing image of their product to create the animation for buyers to view. This is a good way to advertise because its something that isn’t done very much and creates a lot of intrigue for your product; people may not buy the product for the soul reason it has this software however it could be an aspect of the product that people like and appreciate and could just sway them to by the product over a competitor.
